Our limited and signed editions

In France, tax regulations consider as works of art: photographs taken by the artist, drawn by him or under his control, signed and numbered within the limit of thirty copies, all formats and media combined. (Article 98 A of Annex III of the General Tax Code). Each of the photos on the site is available in various formats and finishes, allowing you to purchase a custom-made fine art photograph. You have the possibility of acquiring our numbered photographs, in limited edition, all less than 30 copies, certified and signed by the author photographer.

THE DIBOND

Basically used mainly in advertising for its very advantageous properties, Dibond quickly democratized in the world of photography until it became one of the most used media both for the realization of exhibitions and for hanging. at home.

What is Dibond?

The Dibond is a flat support made from a sheet of polyethylene (a plastic material) sandwiched by two very thin sheets of aluminum. To ensure maximum longevity, the three layers are thermally bonded to each other; it therefore becomes impossible to separate them.

Initially, Dibond is a registered trademark which has become the name of the medium through abuse of language. Thus, the term Dibond also includes Alu-Dibond or Dilite, which is a less expensive equivalent.

The plates are available in several thicknesses: 2 mm, 3 mm, etc.

What are the advantages ?

The advantages of Dibond are multiple:

  • Lightweight – A 3mm Dibond plate weighs approximately 3.8 kg / m 2 . Thus a 40 × 60 format weighs around 900 g.
  • Rigid and flat – Dibond, at least for plates more than 3 mm thick, is very resistant to bending. A 60 × 90 plate — 3 mm thick — does not require a frame!
  • Stable – The Dibond is stable over time, whether cold or hot.
  • Easy to hang – One or two nails or X hooks, one or two picture rails and you’re done.

Under plexi

The Sous Plexi is an original method of face-to-face prints, such as photographs on acrylic sheet. This process was invented by Heinz Sovilla-Brulhart in 1969. Due to the light penetration and refraction of transparent acrylic compared to normal glass, the colors are brighter and the image sharper than that of standard glass in a frame.

A Sous Plexi frame is generally of a very shiny finish. As the print is glued to the acrylic glass, the image mount is completely flat. The print is also protected against ultraviolet (UV) rays. It contains UV light inhibitors to protect the image from UV rays. The process bonds the printing without air bubbles, as it uses liquid gel instead of transparent adhesive film. The Sous Plexi gel hardens in a neutral way and has a built-in ultraviolet filter. It does not contain plasticizers and is resistant to fungicidal agents, bacterial agents and airborne pollutants. After curing, the entire waterproof panel remains chemically inert and stable. The finished product remains flexible, allowing it to withstand temperature and humidity changes that affect paper jobs. The Sous Plexi process is mainly used by artists and photographers to present their works. The Sous Plexi panels are reinforced with aluminum or dibond, thus reinforcing the rigidity of the final image and sealing the illustration on both sides . The aluminum back also allows sub-frames to be attached allowing the artwork to be hung on the wall without a traditional frame.
